Propane Safety

Your safety is our priority.

When used properly, propane is a very safe fuel. It can become dangerous when people are unaware of the precautions they need to take around propane fuel.

BASIC PRECAUTIONS:

• familiarize yourself with the propane supply shut off and the shut off for each propane appliance
• install a carbon monoxide detector – CO is a byproduct of burning gas
• install a propane detector
• mark in-ground tanks w/ flags, poles, or an object tall enough to be seen by trucks and snow plows

IF YOU SMELL, HEAR OR SEE GAS :

• shut off the gas
• leave the area
• call 911 from a cellphone once you’re off the premises
• do not return to the area until professionals determine it’s safe
• report the leak to Kerivan-Lane so we can check your system to resolve the issue
